I have a great collection of batiks, but I had no idea how great it was until I started pulling them for an autumn quilt. For the pattern I'm using, I'm going to make about 100 6" leaf blocks that will have log cabin-like sashing added on two sides. When I counted how much fabric I had in autumn colors, I found I had enough that every block could be a different batik. YIKES!! Not all the pieces are yardage, many are small pieces left from other projects, but enough to make a block. I've decided not to make every block different, however, because I just love some fabrics more than others. Here's what I have so far....
Nice, right? I just hope I don't do as I frequently do, and get distracted by another project. I'd love to have this on the bed by the time leaves begin to change color around here!
Lovely to see you - I love the leaf blocks in Batiks and it should be a wonderful quilt.
