Stash Report 3/13/11
How do you count layer cakes, I wonder? Hm. Layer cakes on hips count a LOT more than on the shelf :-D Answers to almost anything are always at one's fingertips, so I looked around on the wonderful world of the Internet, and saw that a jelly roll is about 2.75 yards, and a layer cake is about the same. Everyone agree with that?
If you saw my report from the Pigeon Forge trip you'll see I got some really gor-ge-uss bits and pieces. Layer Cake of Buttercup. Fat Eighths bundle of Sunkissed. Maybe eight FQs. Two one-yard pieces. I didn't take pics of everything. So - ta da! - my stash has increased by 11.75 yards. After three days at a quilt show, that's pretty amazing!

It is amazing that you didn't come home with more.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to know how to count some things...whatever works with you is the best plan.
ReplyDeleteIt's hard to restrain yourself at a quilt show, with all the vendors showing all the latest goodies. Good for you.
ReplyDeleteThat's all?! It is amazing how it adds up, isn't it? Sounds like you had a great time at the show.
ReplyDeleteQuilt shows can be dangerous for the stash report. Not just the vendors with all the gorgeous fabrics, but seeing all the beautiful quilts makes me want to sew, sew, sew and buy, buy, buy!
ReplyDeleteI have never had a layer cake, so your measurements sound fine to me!
