Whoop Whoop! 3/18

Yes! Finally coming together, the top is sewn, and the spludges of color are fabrics I'm auditioning for the appliques. Not sure where I'm going with that.  Any ideas?  Leaves, stems, flowers and stars.  Should I continue with the colors I've used in the piecing, or go with other colors?  The ones in the picture are pinks and fuschias with aqua together with the green for leaves and stems.

And I'm beginning to think about quilting this baby.  I know there are those of you who plan the quilting before they ever start creating the quilt.  Not me.  Since most of my quilts never leave the house, I just make it up as I go along.  But I'd like this one to be special.  How would you quilt it?

Whoop Whoop!  Something to show on a Friday, yay!!  And Annie's ready to take it on the road:

  2. Wow! That is gorgeous! I like it with all the bright open yellow space but that's just my opinion (I LOVE yellow especially when it is dreary outside). That cat does not look happy to get her picture taken...lol. Whoop Whoop!

  3. Wow, that is really something. I think shooting stars on it would be really awesome. I'm with you on the quilting. I have to see the quilt together before I know how to quilt and then I have to stare at it for a while. That's the hardest part for me.

  5. Great Quilt! I like to leave the top hanging somewhere so I can study it a while, which gives me a few ideas. Then I sit down and start, letting the top guide me to the design.

  6. Spectacular!!! I like Sue's idea of shooting stars, and you could use the same type of pattern in FMQ when you quilt it. I really like the "wonky" aspect to your stars - it gives them a lot of movement! Whoop whoop!!
